Biography

Arnold R. Kriegstein, M.D., Ph.D., is director of the Eli & Edith Broad Center of Regeneration Medicine & Stem Cell Research at the University of California at San Francisco, where he is also a professor of neurology. Dr.Kriegstein is known for his research in the areas of neocortical development, neural differentiation and development. Prior to his appointment at UCSF, he was a professor of neurology at the medical schools at Columbia, Yale and Stanford universities. He received his bachelor's degree in 1971 from Yale University, and his medical and doctorate degrees from New York University.
