Lisa Girion, a Los Angeles Times metro investigative reporter, covers health care for the Los Angeles Times. She has covered workplace issues, legal affairs and human rights and the California economy as a staff writer there. Prior to coming to Times, Ms. Girion served as City Editor of the Los Angeles Daily News and covered various metro beats for that paper, as well as for the Dallas Times Herald, The Dallas Morning News and the Wilmington (DE) News Journal. She has won numerous awards for her work, including her contributions to the Daily News' coverage of the 1992 Los Angeles riot, her expose of mental health care in Delaware and her story on alleged human rights violations during the construction of a gas pipeline in Myanmar (Burma). She earned a bachelor's degree at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
