I covered health care and medicine for the San Jose Mercury News for eight years before starting a consulting and freelancing career in 2008. Currently, I am deputy editor for ReportingonHealth.org, where I write the Accidental Wonk and TalkBack blogs and manage the site's day-to-day operations. After 15 years as a beat reporter at big-city newspapers, I'm excited by this transition to online work.
