Conscious Living TV/The Soul of Green

About Myself

I am the Executive Producer and Co-Host of Conscious Living TV.com and the Soul of Green.com, two online shows produced through our green HD video and production company, Conscious Planet Media. We specialize in telling and distributing conscious, inspirational stories via broadband and linear TV.

As a formally trained attorney with degrees from Princeton and The University of Virginia Law School, I translated my background in justice to become a consumer advocate and spokesperson for sustainable living. In this role, I educate and empower audiences around the world on how to live happier, healthier, more conscious lives.

I also appear regularly as a Conscious Living expert on ABC and NBC news shows around the country. Before Conscious Living, I hosted positive TV programs on networks such as Lifetime, TV ONE, the TV Guide Channel, USA, and Fox. I am also a yoga instructor and was featured in hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons' Yoga Live! video series. Recently, I was featured on the cover of Black Enterprise magazine for our company's work in green media.

I am happily married to Michael Alexander, my business partner and co-host. Together, we recently relocated to Chicago to become charter tenants at the Green Exchange, a Platinum-LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) building project, where we will be building a green tv studio to expand our media platform.

I am a member of the Social Venture Network and a 2009 Fellow of the Association of Healthy Care Journalists.

Making a Difference

I am motivated by a passion for justice and equality for all. One of the greatest injustices on the planet at this time is the current state of our health system, which sadly focus on short-term allopathic (symptom-driven) medicine as opposed to preventive, more long-term holistic healing. I am a passionate follower and practitioner of Eastern Medicine, which includes Reiki energy healing. As a journalist and TV producer and personality, I feel blessed to be able to share stories with the world about conscious living and healing that are simply not being shared by mainstream media. As a fellow, I plan to address how chronic disease affects communities of color disproportionately, and the environmental, social, cultural and economic reasons behind that, as well as offer alternative healing as a solution to this health crisis and the health crisis currently impacting communities around the world.
