About Myself

I am an independent journalist who is blessed to be part of a group of passionate broadcasters professionals who produce two radio shows in Spanish language for Pacifica Radio Los Angeles 90.7 FM and Santa Barbara 98.7 FM. I am a co-host and co- producer for Nuestra Voz, a public affairs and culture program that covers everything is related to the Hispanic community and also contribute with Enfoque Latino, one of the oldest Spanish language shows at KPFK. I am also interested in sharing information and learning from the students of the Spanish language journalism program at California State University Northridge who are trained to be the next generation of bilingual and bi-cultural journalists in the country. I have special interest in covering health and environmental issues in Spanish language since there are limited outlets that focused on these issues. My educational background is in Communication Sciences and Latin American Studies and I also have a close connection to medicine. My Dad was a rural physician in Southern Baja and I grew up witnessing deliveries, vaccinations, all kinds of emergencies and attention to anyone regardless if they could afford the service. Therefore, I believe health care is a human right and sharing information along these lines is a responsibility.
