Rebecca Plevin - Health Journalism Fellow
I am a reporter for Valley Public Radio, the NPR affiliate in Central California. I also blog about rural health issues and health disparities for Reporting on Health.
I was the community health reporter for Vida en el Valle, the McClatchy Company's bilingual newspaper in California's San Joaquín Valley, through November 2012. My position was generously funded by The California Endowment.
Before joining Vida in December 2008, I was a reporter for a community newspaper in Northern Virginia. I am a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, and have received two George F. Gruner Awards for Meritorious Public Service in Journalism, as well as awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications and the California Newspaper Publishers Association.
